48 are cast in summer youth show, ‘Hairspray’

Forty-eight young people have been cast in Hairspray, the Broadway Musical, Near West Theatre’s 35th consecutive summer youth theater production. Rehearsals begin Sunday, June 10. The show runs for eight performances, July 20 through Aug. 5, at the theater’s performance space, 3606 Bridge Ave., Cleveland. Tickets and show information are available online or by calling the theater’s business-office ticket line, 216-961-6391, between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. weekdays. Auditions, held in May, drew 102 young people ages 13 to 21. Bob Navis Jr. directs, with musical direction by Jordan Cooper and choreography under the direction of Stephanie Morrison-Hrbek.
